Monday - back to normal

Andrew seems fine now, though VERY skinny. He has a slight cough, but even that seems mostly gone already. We went to the pool yesterday (his idea, apparently his ultimate desire) and he seemed quite normal, for a normal kid. Which means he didn't swim 20 laps in between games of sharks and minnows like he usually does, but he played, and I think he swam a couple when no one was paying attention. He is going to try swim team today, since the other older kids won't be there and he can have a lane to himself and just see how he does.

We went with Pablo, Matias, Paul, Zoe, and Hannah. We swam a lot, then the guys all sat around and played UpWords and had a beer (Matias had a coke. Andrew water.) while the girls played some more. A very nice afternoon. It was HOT, so the pool was the perfect activity.

Paul invited us over for brunch yesterday morning, out on the beautiful back porch he shares with the local hummingbirds.
Happily we had even had something to offer, because I couldn't sleep and got up at 5:00 and made three of Andrew's favorite coffeecakes in an attempt to put some weight back on him. He's lost about 8 pounds since he got sick. He ate nearly a whole one yesterday, and there's one waiting for him this morning.
