Last night we joined Alana, Olivia, Pablo, Rocio, and Matias in wishing Maiara well on her long journey home to Brazil. We gave her a present, and Alana whipped up some stawberry shortcake to help ease the pain. It didn't help much, as there were plenty tears, and poor Mali sobbed all the way home to bed.
This morning we stopped by on the way to swim team practice and dropped off a CD with a large set of pictures for her to remember us by. We will miss her. Lobbying soon begins in earnest to bring her back for college.
